Shakrain Festival  also known as Kite festival is Celebrated especially in Old Dhaka, It is observed at the end of the Bengali month Poush or January 14 or 15. This is day is also known as Poush Shangkranti

The major attraction of this festival is that people of all ages gather around their rooftop with their kites in the afternoon. They fly their kites high and sometimes this festival often brings the epic and exciting kite fighting.

As part of the celebration, kites are flown high from the rooftopsaround the area in the afternoon. It often takes the form of kite fighting, in which participants try to snag each other's kites or cut other kites down.

When night falls, fireworks lit up the sky of old Dhaka. Flame-eaters also gather up on the roofs to entertainment  everyone with their skills of manipulating fire.

The Alutila mysterious cave and Risang Fall is a tourist Attraction of Alutila Hill in Matiranga Upazilla of the Khagrachori Hill Tracts District.


Khagrachari is the district headquarters of Khagrachari hill district, connected to Chittagong by a 92 kilometer all-weather metalled road.
